it looks like California’s drought may get a bit of a break towards the end of this year as it’s predicted that the strongest El Niño weather patterns to date are going to hit the state
so please make any preparations you can for flooding or landslides which are often worse following periods of drought
also remember that even with El Niño coming and record rain fall predicted, the state will still not be out of the woods with the drought. it will provide relief, but not enough.
stay safe, guys
True!
Get your tires checked ✔️
Get your brakes checked ✔️
Change your windshield wipers ✔️
Make sure that you have working headlights and tail lights✔️Clean your gutters ( on your roof)✔️
Invest in some rain gear✔️
( Lord knows I can’t find a working umbrella in my house… This has been a long drought lol)Nows the time to patch up any leaks✔️
….. And if you happen to live in LA and driving is your main transportation……
Slow the fuck down!! ✔️this is a really good list!!
also make sure you are prepared for any power outages! storms after a drought often mean more felled power lines at once because of falling trees/branches, etc.. that would normally fall a little at a time in non-drought conditions. some towns and areas are preparing for this as well as clearing storm drains but not all.
and if you have trees around you that look dangerous like they’re ready to fall apart, see if you can call the city about them.
